Gluten is a vegetable protein found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye and may cause digestive problems in some individuals. It is found in beverages containing wheat and barley.

A gluten-free diet is recommended as a form of treatment for people with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. In a gluten-free diet, nutritious animal foods such as those rich in vitamins and minerals, fibrous, natural, nutritious vegetables and fruits, legumes that are vegetable protein sources, chicken, fish and meat varieties, eggs, cheese, milk and yogurt are consumed.
